13 Verity Street Gallery, Melbourne
This was my second solo exhibition, after graduating from VCA in 1984. The gallery '13 Verity Street' was owned and run by Michael Wardell, who had been a curator at the National Gallery in Canberra before moving to Melbourne in the late 80s. This exhibition was painted in my studio at 200 Gertrude Street which I occupied between 1987 and 1989. This early body of work shows my working my way around Colin McCahon, a big influence and big hurdle at that time.
