Collection - Melbourne University This work was started in 2001 as no.5, I became quite dissatisfied with the lower section, after the painting was well under way. I decided to abandon this canvas and start a new one with changes to this area. That second version now survives as No.5. In 2006 I descovered this first version rolled up in my studio, and on looking at it after those years decided it should survive, I then proceeded to finish the work as intially intended and now this painting survives as no.5a.
