The borrowed plumage
borrowed plumage no.3 (noli me tangere), 2007
oil on linen
244 x 136cm
This painting is my interpretation of the subject 'noli me tangere' roughly 'don't touch me'. Christ appears before Mary Magdalene in spirit, Mary attempts to reach out to Christ in body, he points out her mistake. She can only touch him now through spirit and the strength of her belief. My favorite Noli me tangere is the Titian in the National Gallery London. private collection
